10. Operation

Scalding/burning hazard!
Never open the lid (2) during the brewing process.
Hot liquids and steam will escape from the openings. Keep away from these parts.
Fresh coffee grinds are hot! Do not touch them.
The hotplate (11) and the coffee pot (13) get very hot during use!

Place the coffee machine on a clean, dry and horizontal surface. The anti-slip rubber feet (12) stop
the machine from moving. Please be aware that the rubber feet can leave marks on delicate surfaces.

Open the lid.

Pour cold, fresh drinking water into the water tank (8) through the water fill hole (3). Do not exceed the
Max. mark on the water level indicator (6).
Water level indicator:
The product can hold a maximum of 1.8 L of water. This corresponds to approximately 12 cups of
coffee. Pour at least 0.6 L of water into the tank.
Use soft or filtered water to prevent limescale from forming in the machine.

Add coffee grinds to the filter (17). Measure the necessary amount of coffee grinds from the pack of
coffee. As a rule of thumb, use one level measuring spoon (18) of coffee grinds per cup of coffee.
- You can also use size 4 paper filters (filter bags) instead of the factory-provided filter (17).

Insert the filter into the filter holder (16) and then insert the filter holder into the filter holder slot (5).

Close the lid.
7.
Place the coffee pot onto the hotplate.
8.
Connect the mains plug (9) to a suitable mains socket. The LCD (26) turns on and "12:00" flashes on the
display. Refer to "11. Setting the time and using the timer" on page 23 for information on how to set
the time.
- The LCD backlight will turn off automatically 10 seconds after the coffee machine switches off.
- If the power supply is interrupted:
» If the power supply is interrupted for more than 10 seconds:
» If the power supply is interrupted for 10 seconds or less:
Stowing the cable:
The mains cable (9) can be conveniently stowed in the cable tidy (10) on the back of the machine.
Stow the cable in the cable tidy after unplugging it from the mains.
