Installing the Starter Rope
1. Pull the starter rope through the rope guide on the
handle. To make the rope easierto loop, squeeze
the control bar on the handle to release the blade
brake.

Adjusting the Brake Cable
Whenever a new blade brake cable assembly is installed,
an adjustment is required.
1. Stop the engine. Pull the wire off the spark plug.
Remove the key from the switch on the electric start
model.
2. CHECK ADJUSTMENT—Move
toward the handle until the slack in the wire is
removed. The gap between the brake lever and the
handle must be
