5.2.OPERATING THE PRESSURE REGULATOR LAB 3100

Getting started:
1. Open 90° s/o handle
Set requested working pressure with handle for pressure adjusting

The pressure can be infinitely adjusted within the setting range by means of the handwheel.
Increasing pressure:
Ensure that the Outlet valve is closed. Turn the handwheel slowly to the right until the desired
working pressure is reached. Open the Outlet valve. If you bleed large quantities of gas, the
pressure may need to be readjusted. You can reduce the working pressure when gas is bled
off. Turn the handwheel to the left until the desired pressure is reached. If you only bleed very
small quantities of gas, it may be some time before the pressure is reduced.
NOTE!
• The red marking on the manometer indicates the max. working pressure.
Shutting-off
By turning the handwheel a quarter turn clockwise (CW) gas flow will be interrupted and the
regulator is closed (status indicator showing red marking).
Opening
By turning the handwheel a quarter turn counter clockwise (CCW) the gas flows and the
preinstalled pressure level will be reached.
5.3. ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT FOR EMD 3100
DANGER!
• The system pressure has to be released before installation begins. Depending on the gas
type, residual gases in the pipes must be let off safely. Danger of fire, explosion or poisoning!
