Maintenance intervals
Perform maintenance at least once a year, as well as before any longer periods of use.
Additionally, maintenance should also be carried out following every inflation.
Visual check
Check all components for signs of damage, wear or residue: bag and stitching, waistband
and buckle, bladder, trigger, trigger cord, CO2 cartridge, and CO2 cartridge thread (to do
this, unscrew and re-screw the cartridge to check).
Trigger test
We recommend testing your RESTUBE product in the water to experience the buoyancy
firsthand. Once back on land, unscrew the cartridge and move the release lever as if trig-
gering the device. The pin should move smoothly within the cartridge fitting.
Oral valve test
Remove the cap from the valve and press the oral valve to release some CO2. Afterwards,
the oral valve should be completely sealed again. Deflate the float entirely through the
oral valve, then reinflate it using only your breath until firm.
Air-tightness of the float
After inflating the float fully by mouth, leave it in a stable-temperature environment for
24 hours. If significant air loss occurs, the product needs replacement. NOTE: Pure CO2
gradually diffuses through the bladder material. It is therefore normal for the float to de-
flate over 15-30 hours when filled with pure CO2 from the cartridge.
Preparing for next use
Pack the dry RESTUBE product up according to its packing instructions. Ensure the pierced,
empty cartridge is replaced with a new, intact one. NOTE: Only use original RESTUBE CO2
cartridges to maintain functionality. All RESTUBE cartridges comply with EN ISO 12402-7
and UL 1191 standards, fitting the trigger precisely, containing the exact CO2 volume
needed, and offering high seawater resistance.
Disposal
The pouch and empty CO2 cartridges can be disposed with general waste.
