06.06 Geotextiles
For the installation of an infiltration system the box
system is covered completely with the RAUMAT
non-woven or a comparable fleece with min. 150 g/m²
(GRK 3) to prevent the permeation of fine soil particles.
The geotextile fabric should be laid perpendicular to
the longitudinal axis of the trench.

The length of the geotextile sheet = 2x height +
2x width + 0.50 m overlap. The overlap in the
longitudinal direction and on the front ends
should also be approx. 0.5 m.
Both ends of the geotextile sheet are fastened tempo-
rarily to the edges of the trench, the trench walls or the
trench sheeting.

The geotextile is cut cross-shaped at pipe connections.
Once the installation of the boxes is finished and all
shaft connections are complete the RAUMAT
non-woven is removed from the edges of the trench
and laid across the RAUSIKKO Boxes with a 0.5 m
overlap at the geotextile joints.
It is to be ensured that the geotextile fabric lies tightly
against the boxes and no earth gets between the
RAUSIKKO boxes and the geotextile filter sheeting.
The front side of the tank is to be covered with a
pre-cut part, which is equal in size to the surface of
the front end plus an approx. 0.5 m wide overlap.
If the Boxes are used to store rainwater (e.g., as water
cisterns for firefighting), instead of the geotextile filter
the boxes are to be covered with a HD-PE liner sheet
so that they are watertight. The thickness of the liner
sheet is min. 2 mm. The liner sheet is to be protected
on both sides against mechanical damage with a
protective nonwoven with 400 g/m² or more.
Special consideration must be taken along the edges
and at the connections.
The HD-PE geomembrane must be welded. The
membrane and the protective nonwovens must not be
damaged in the process.
