The JUMO mTRON automation system incorporates the fieldbus network
concept called LON (
A screened and twisted pair is used as the transmission line. The wiring
options are: linear, star, ring, or mixed structures (free topology):
Each one of the physical ends must be provided with a termination resistor of
100Ω, which is activated by a switch on the module.

In this wiring configuration, the network remains functional even when there is
a break. The termination resistor for just one of the modules in the ring must
be set to 50Ω.
