4.1 Installation notes

The choice of cable, the installation and the electrical connection of
the module must meet the requirements of VDE 0100 "Regulations
for the Installation of Power Circuits with Nominal Voltages below
1000V" or the appropriate local regulations.
❏
Work on the module must only be carried out to the extent described,
and, like the electrical connection, only by properly qualified
personnel.
❏
Disconnect the module on line and neutral from the supply, if there
could be contact with live parts during the work.
❏
The external fuse for the supply should not be rated above 10A
(slow).
❏
The electromagnetic compatibility conforms to the standards and
regulations that are specified in the technical data.

The module is not suitable for installation in hazardous (Ex) areas.
❏
Input, output and supply cables should be run separately, and not
parallel to each other.
❏
All input and output cables which are not connected to the supply
network must be implemented as twisted and shielded cables. Do
not run them close to current-carrying components or cables.
Temperature probes should have the screening grounded to TE
(technical earth) at the module end only; the screen of the LON
interface at both ends (on each module).
❏
If there is no TE in the installation, connect the TE terminal on the
module to the protective earth (PE).
❏
Do not loop the earth connections, i.e. do not run them from one
module to another, but run them singly, for instance to earth terminals
on the mounting rail (short leads!).
❏
Faulty installation or incorrect settings on the module can interfere
with the proper operation of the subsequent process.
Provision should therefore always be made for safety devices that are
independent of the module, such as safety valves or temperature
limiters/monitors.
Setting up must be restricted to properly qualified personnel.
Please observe the appropriate safety regulations in this connection.
