"Battery operation" mode
Press and hold the "Mode" button until the "Battery operation" mode is selected. The capacity of a fully-charged
battery is sufficient to operate the water feature purely in battery mode for four hours. The battery is also charged
in this operating mode if there is sufficient sunlight. If the mode is selected during the hours of darkness, the
integrated LED lamps illuminate the water fountains.
Memory function
The device is equipped with a memory function that ensures that the pump always switches on at the same time.
The time at which you switch the pump on in battery mode for the first time is saved and used as the future start
time. This function is only available in "Battery operation" mode. If you change the mode or switch the pump off,
the start time that is saved is deleted.
"Timer button" (only SPS 800/12)
Pressing the "Timer button" limits the pump and lighting (in darkness) operation to two hours. This function is only
available in battery-operated mode.
This mode is used to limit the power consumption and to therefore save the battery.
Adjustable flow rate in "Battery operation" mode
The water jet can be adjusted using the "Water flow" rotary regulator. "Lo" stands for a low height and "Hi" stands
for a higher height. Regulation is only available in "Battery operation" mode.
Note that a higher water jet requires more energy and therefore shortens the pump runtime in pure battery mode.
Battery low
The device is equipped with total discharge protection. If the battery voltage falls below 4.5 V, the "Battery low"
control lamp flashes every two seconds and the pump and lighting are switched off. In this case, allow the battery
to charge with the collector in direct sunlight for at least eight hours before re-starting the pump.
Note: The control housings are splash-proof! You can leave your device outdoors even if the rain is heavy.

8. Maintenance and care

Solar collector:
The solar collector must be cleaned regularly with a
soft cloth. Regular cleaning is recommended to guarantee that the sunlight is absorbed and converted into energy
in an optimum manner.
Pump:
If the pump's flow rate reduces after a certain time or the pump no longer works at all, check whether sediment,
sludge or other dirt is in the pump's filter. To do this, remove the pump and impeller covers. Clean both with
lukewarm water and a soft brush. Do not forget to clean the sponge.
Note for SPS 800/12
Press the four clips (A) on the top housing cover lightly to separate the two housing parts Remove the rotor (C)
from its holder by pulling out in a forwards direction. Clean the rotor, the pump cover and the inside of the pump
housing with clear water.
Use a non-metallic brush for cleaning if necessary. If there is tough contamination such as limescale, we
recommend leaving the parts that are to be cleaned to soak in vinegar or lemon juice for a few hours to release
the dirt. Put the rotor back into its holder once you have finished cleaning. Finally, re-install the pump cover on the
pump housing carefully.
To assemble the device, proceed in the opposite sequence; ensure that the rotor bearing is seated correctly when
assembling.
