Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
Danger of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
Danger of fi re! The device gets very hot during and after operation! When setting
up the device, ensure that you select a location with enough clearance all around the
device (at least 20 cm to the sides, 30 cm above it).
1. Unpack the device and check the items supplied for completeness (see the "Items
Supplied and Device Overview" chapter) and possible transport damage. If you
fi nd transport damage, do not use the device (!), but contact the customer service
department immediately.
2. Peel off any stickers and fi lms from the device.
3. The device may contain production residues. In order to avoid health hazards, clean
the inside of the housing and all accessories thoroughly before you fi rst use them
(see the "Cleaning and storage" chapter).
4. Place the device on a dry and heat-resistant fl at surface at a safe distance from fl am-
mable objects. Make sure that the device is not accessible to children.
5. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed 220 - 240 volt plug socket.
6. You should use the device for the fi rst time without any food in it, as it may produce a
small amount of smoke or odours due to coating residues. Allow the device to heat up
on the highest temperature setting for approx. 15 minutes without any food in it (see
the "Operation" chapter). During this time, make sure the room is well ventilated, e.g.
with wide-open windows!

Operation

CAUTION!
Danger of burns! The device will become very hot during use. Make sure that you
do not come into contact with heated parts while or after using the device. Use oven
cloths or kitchen gloves when you open the glass door and would like to put in or
remove food.
Ensure that there is suffi cient ventilation while the device is in operation.
Make sure that the food that you would like to prepare does not come into contact
with the heating elements of the device.
Do not place food wrapped in cling fi lm or plastic bags into the device.
Do not place food containing fat or oil directly onto the rack so that the bottom heating
elements are not contaminated by fat/oil dripping down. Use the baking tray supplied
with the device!
Generally it is not necessary to preheat the device. However, for the
preparation of food which has to be ready "on the dot", pre-heating is
recommended so that the exact time when the food has been cooked can
be determined.
For the preparation of frozen items, please follow the time and temperature
specifi cations of the manufacturer.
