Installing Your Eyepiece
1. Remove the Dust Caps
Take the cap off your telescope's focuser or diagonal and remove
the caps from your eyepiece.
2. Loosen the Thumbscrew(s)
Back out the thumbscrew(s) on the focuser or diagonal a few
turns so the eyepiece barrel can slide in.
3. Insert the Eyepiece
Place the eyepiece barrel (the chrome-colored end) into the
focuser or diagonal opening.
4. Secure It
Gently tighten the thumbscrew on the focuser/diagonal until the
eyepiece is snug. Don't overtighten, as this may create marks or
scratches on the chrome barrel.

Using Eyecups
1. Hold the eyepiece firmly in one hand.
2. With your other hand, grasp the
rubber ring in the center.
3. Turn the rubber ring counter-
clockwise to raise it. Turn it
clockwise to lower it
If you don't wear glasses: Raise
the eyecup until it feels comfortable against your brow.
If you do wear glasses: Lower the eyecup all the way down
so your glasses can get close to the lens.
Calculating Magnification
The magnification you get with this eyepiece depends on the
focal length of your telescope. Divide the telescope's focal
length by the eyepiece's focal length to find your magnification.
