In the "Data communication network" window opened at the beginning, find a new
icon with the previously selected name for the data communication connection
("CallbyCall1") next to the "Set new connection" icon
Double click on this and then just enter the user name and codeword.
This data is obtained from your call by call provider. For the call provider "Talknet"
used in the above example, both the user name and the codeword are "talknet", at
the time point of printing of these Operating Instructions.
If you do not want to have to enter these two words manually each time, activate the
tick next to "Save codeword".
Clicking on "Connect" sets up the connection to the provider, after a few seconds a
small icon appears at the bottom right of the menu bar with two tiny screens which
flash to indicate data transfer.
Double clicking on this displays a window in which the amount of data transferred
can be seen. Clicking on "Disconnect" disconnects the existing connection.
b) Windows 98 (SE)
Select "Start/Program/Accessories/Communication/Data communication network",
and click on "Continue". then enter your area code and, if necessary, an exchange
line prefix (for telephone systems this is usually "0" (zero)).
Click on "Closed", and then enter your name for the Data Communication Network,
e.g. "CallbyCall1".
"Billion ISDN Channel 0" should appear under "Select a device", if not, please select
it (The name may, however, be different for later versions of the software!).
Click on "Continue" and enter the telephone number of a call by call provider (Exam-
ple: At the time of going to print this is 01050 / 019251 for the "Talknet" provider); or
that of your provider (e.g. T-Online), again click on "Continue" and then on "Com-
plete".

Bei "Wählen Sie ein Gerät" sollte "Billion ISDN Channel 0" stehen, falls nicht, wählen
Sie dies bitte aus (Name könnte sich aber bei neueren Versionen der Software
ändern!).
Klicken Sie auf "Weiter" und geben Sie nun die Telefonnummer eines Call by Call-
Providers ein (Beispiel: Zum Zeitpunkt der Drucklegung 01050 / 019251 für den Pro-
vider "Talknet"); oder die Ihres Providers (z.B. T-Online), klicken Sie erneut auf "Wei-
ter" und dann auf "Fertig stellen".
Im bereits am Beginn geöffneten Fenster "DFÜ-Netzwerk" finden Sie nun neben dem
Icon "Neue Verbindung erstellen" ein neues Icon mit dem vorhin gewählten Namen
für die DFÜ-Verbindung ("CallbyCall1"). Nach dem Doppelklick darauf müssen Sie
nur noch den Benutzernamen und das Kennwort eingeben.
Diese Daten erfahren Sie bei Ihrem Call by Call-Provider. Für den im obigen Beispiel
verwendeten Provider "Talknet" lautete zum Zeitpunkt der Drucklegung dieser
Bedienungsanleitung sowohl der Benutzername "talknet" als auch das Kennwort
"talknet".
Falls Sie diese beiden Wörter nicht jedesmal per Hand eingeben wollen, so aktivieren
Sie das Häkchen neben "Kennwort speichern".
Nach einem Klick auf "Verbinden" wird die Verbindung zu dem Provider aufgebaut,
nach ein paar Sekunden erscheint rechts unten in der Menüleiste ein kleines Icon mit
zwei winzigen Bildschirmen; die durch Blinken den Datentransfer anzeigen.
Ein Doppelklick darauf zeigt Ihnen ein Fenster, in dem Sie die übertragenen
Datenmengen ersehen können. Ein Klick auf "Trennen" trennt die bestehende Ver-
bindung.
b) Windows 98 (SE)
Wählen Sie "Start/Programme/Zubehör/Kommunikation/DFÜ-Netzwerk", klicken Sie
auf "Weiter", geben Sie Ihre Ortsvorwahl ein und evtl. eine Vorwahl für die Amtslei-
tung (bei Telefonanlagen meist die "0" (Null).
Klicken Sie auf "Schliessen", geben Sie dann einen Namen für das DFÜ-Netzwerk
ein, z.B. "CallbyCall1".
