Windows fordert Sie nun auf, die "Win95 Driver Installation Diskette" einzulegen.
Klicken Sie auf "OK", dann auf "Durchsuchen..." und wählen Sie erneut das Ver-
zeichnis "Driver\Win95" der CD, klicken Sie auf "OK" und im nächsten Fenster erneut
auf "OK".
Windows 95 beginnt nun mit dem Kopieren der Treiberdateien; nach kurzer Zeit ist
die Windows 95-CD nötig; eventuell müssen Sie von Hand den Pfad in der Eingabe-
zeile "Quelle:" eingeben (z.B. F:\win95, wenn F: Ihr CD-ROM-Laufwerk ist).
Falls im Hintergrund das Installationsprogramm für das ISDN-Utility
startet, so brechen Sie es bitte unbedingt ab, da beim Kopieren sonst
eine Fehlermeldung erscheint (die ISDN-Karte ist noch nicht aktiviert).
Gleiches gilt für das Fenster "Microsoft Multilink PPP", in dem aufge-
fordert wird, ein Update "WSOCKUPD.EXE" zu installieren. Die Datei
mit diesem Namen existiert nicht, sondern es handelt sich um das
Microsoft ISDN-Accelerator-Pack V1.1, das nur für alte Windows 95-
Versionen nötig ist (ist auf der CD im Verzeichnis "Driver\Win95" ent-
halten, Datei "Msisdn11.exe").
Bei Windows 95b (auf der CD steht "...mit USB-Unterstützung" ist es
nicht nötig!
Warten Sie einen Moment, nach kurzer Zeit ist ein Neustart nötig.
Installieren Sie dann das DFÜ-Netzwerk von der Windows 95-CD, siehe nächster
Punkt "7. c)".
7. DFÜ-Netzwerk einrichten
Normalerweise sollten Sie von Ihrem Provider genaue Informationen erhalten, wie
das DFÜ-Netzwerk korrekt eingerichtet wird.
a) Windows ME
Unter "Start/Zubehör/Kommunikation" finden Sie das "DFÜ-Netzwerk".
Warten Sie nach dem Anklicken einen Moment, bis das Fenster komplett aufgebaut
ist. Klicken Sie auf "Weiter", geben Sie Ihre Ortsvorwahl ein und evtl. eine Vorwahl für
die Amtsleitung (bei Telefonanlagen meist die "0" (Null).
Klicken Sie auf "Schliessen", geben Sie dann einen Namen für das DFÜ-Netzwerk
ein, z.B. "CallbyCall1".

Clicking on "Connect" sets up the connection to the provider, after a few seconds a
small icon appears at the bottom right of the menu bar with two tiny screens which
flash to indicate data transfer.
Double clicking on this displays a window in which the amount of data transferred
can be seen. Clicking on "Disconnect" disconnects the existing connection.
c) Windows 95
Only the English "Microsoft ISDN Accelerator-Pack V1.1" was contained in the
"Driver\win95" directory on the driver CD supplied at the time of printing.
Download via the Internet, for instance from an acquaintance, the German version of
www.microsoft.de.
Select (provided the website has been changed from Microsoft) "Windows/Down-
loads", select the "Windows 95" option in the "Download to" window and click on
"Go". Change the product name to "Windows 95" and click on "Search".
In the list now displayed, find the "ISDN Accelerator Pack V1.1 for Windows 95"
(approx. 567kB), that you download and, for example, can transfer via diskette to
you PC (File name: "demsisdn11.exe").
Install the ISDN-Accelerator-Pack and start the file with a double click. Read the
licence conditions and if satisfied click on "Yes" and, on completion of the installa-
tion, on "OK".
You must now carry out a reboot!
The following description applies to the German version that you can download from
www.microsoft.de. The procedure is the same as detailed above.
Start the "Data communication network" under "Start\Accessories".
Click on "Continue", and then enter your name for the Data Communication Net-
work, e.g. "CallbyCall1".
"Billion ISDN Channel 0" should appear at "Select a modem". If not, please select it
(the name may, however, be different for later versions of the software!).
Click on "Continue" and enter the telephone number of a call by call provider (Exam-
ple: At the time of going to print this is 01050 / 019251 for the "Talknet" provider); or
that of your provider (e.g. T-Online).
