The sensor must be installed in such a way that melting water runs
off across the sensor. It should be located as close as possible to the
downpipe or the gutter.
Wiring sensors to Elexant 650c-Modbus
Connect the sensor cable according to the wiring diagram (at the back of
the manual).
Sensor extension
If necessary, the sensor cable may be extended. Maximum extension
length for E650C-R sensor is 140 meters (with 1 mm
values are including already the length of the cable that is attached to the
sensor in the box.
Commissioning of the sensors
To check the correct operation of the sensor, you can check the
resistance at the sensor terminals and compare with the resistance
and temperature table for the E650C-R sensors. To check the humidity
indication, use ice spray / a bit of water on the surface of the sensors
and check if the humidity indication changes from - - (no moisture) to
some number value from 1 to 10 (minimum sensitivity is 10, maximum
sensitivity is 1). Please keep in mind that the controller is doing
a measurement check every 30 minutes. Note: If you are doing a
measurement in the summer, the "Upper temp limit" setting would need
to be set to OFF.
3. OPERATION
The E650C-R sensor is intended only to work with Elexant 650c-Modbus
controller. If Elexant 650c-Modbus is not programmed, the unit will start
a quickstart menu after powering up. For further detailed parameters
and settings use the separate operation manual (EU2442) and the
Modbus register map document (EU2234).This can be downloaded from
chemelex.com
Note: The pre-programming of the controller can be done with an external
power-bank e.g. RAYCHEM-PB-POWERBANK (PCN 1244-020365) in case
there is no power supply on site during controller/panel installation.
