Standby off switch
1. Introduction
a) Proper use
The standby off switch (hereafter referred
to as SbO) is a simple and convenient way
to save energy and protect the environment
The SbO uses an internal measurementto
determine if the connected
is in standby (idle mode) and uses up power
unnecessarily (we assume that the device in
this case is a TV)
Please note:
The device connected
consume at least 40 W during operation
Otherwise it will be turned off automatically
after about 60 seconds, see Specifications for
more details.

2. Getting started:
a) Ininital operation
Remove the standby off switch from its
package and connect the jack plug of the
IR receiver with the matching socket on the
device.
Plug the Sb0 into a mains socket.
Place the IR receiver clearly visible in front or
next to your TV. Please note: Infrared requires
device
a line-of-sight connection. An unfavourable
location of the IR receiver
reception problems and limit the function
For the „Standby off switch" to work with your
TV,you have to teach the SbO an infrared code
To do so, press the round ON /OFFbutton and
keep it pressed for several seconds. Both
LEDs are flashing (to the right and left of the
ON / OFFbutton, green) The SbO is in learn
mode.
Point your TV remote in the direction of your
IR receiver and press the button you use to
turn on your TV,e g. „1,", „Power"... It is not
important for the function which button you
choose
As soon as the Sb0 has learned the code, the
LEDswill stop flashing The SbO is not ready
for operation.
Connect the mains plug of your TV with the
socket of the standby off switch. Turn on your
TV manually using its power switch!
b) Generaloperation
ON: To activate your TV, press the previously
programmed button on your remote. The SbO
is turned on and both LEDs below the green
ring are illuminated
Your TV is now in standby mode and you
can turn in on as usual with your remote, for
example with the „1" program button
