Brief description

2.1 Purpose
The WireCom call station with splash-proof control elements is part of a communication system and
allows cable-bound communication.

The connecting cable for the call station is supplied and installed by the customer. It has to be
connected to the 22-pole terminal strip in the housing and is led out of the housing through the
screwjoint type "PG9". Terminal strip and pin assignment see Fig. 2.
2.5 Power supply
Power (+24 V DC) for the call station is supplied externally via the connecting cable.

Commissioning and operation

3.1 Connecting
Connect the call station via the connecting cable to the communication system.
When the external supply voltage (24 V DC) is applied to the call station, the red LED "Power"
illuminates and the call station is on standby/receiving. A received message is audible via the
loudspeaker in the call station.
PTT operation – speaking and hearing
3.2
For speaking press the PTT button, keep the PTT button pressed, and speak in the microphone from a
distance of 10 to 30 cm (3.9 to 11.8 in.). The green LED "PTT" illuminates. You can speak via the
microphone as long as you keep the PTT button pressed. The loudspeaker in the call station is
switched off whilst the PTT button is pressed to avoid any feed-back.
Upon release of the PTT button the green LED "PTT" extinguishes, the loudspeaker in the call station is
switched on again and the call station is on standby/receive. A received message is audible via the
loudspeaker in the call station.
3.3 Call function
By means of the call button "Ruf" you can switch on an external buzzer as long as you keep the call
button "Ruf" pressed. The allocated green LED "Ruf" illuminates whilst the call button "Ruf" is kept
pressed.
