Note: In this user manual, Lumea refers to the Philips Lumea IPL 7000 Series,
8000 Series and 9000 Series.
Intended use
Philips Lumea is a home use device intended for the removal of unwanted hair for a
single user. Lumea can be used by lay persons in the age range of 18-65 years with fair
up to medium brown skin tones, and naturally dark blond, brown, dark brown and
black hair. Lumea can be used on the body and on the female face* (below
the cheekbone). Lumea is a handheld device intended for home use.
* Only if your Lumea includes the face attachment (BRI932, BRI933, BRI937, BRI938,
BRI983, BRI984).
Is Lumea suitable for you?
Philips Lumea is not suitable for everyone. Check the skin tone and hair color tables
at the start of this user manual and read the important safety instructions carefully to
see if Lumea is suitable for you.
Unsuitable body hair colors: Treatment with Lumea is not effective if you have light
blond, grey, red or white hairs as hairs with these colors do not absorb enough light.
Unsuitable skin tones: You cannot use Lumea if you have dark brown to dark skin tones
as these skin tones absorb light more easily which could result in pain, skin redness
or burns.
