Antenna installation
To use the radio, you need an antenna that operates in the 26-30 MHz frequency
range. The PNI-PAK61 kit includes the PNI ML70 radio antenna with magnetic
base.
To install and tune the antenna, call a specialized technician. Note: The PNI ML70
antenna is factory-calibrated to the 27.225MHz CH22 frequency.
Usually, the antenna should be positioned on the highest part of the vehicle,
without being shielded by obstacles and as far away as possible from any electrical
source or electromagnetic noise.
The antenna coaxial cable must not be interrupted or pressed.
Connect the plug from the end of the antenna coaxial cable to the antenna
connector on the rear panel of the radio.
On/Off and Volume
Turn the radio on by turning the potentiometer on the front panel clockwise.
Continue to turn in both directions to adjust the volume.
Turn the radio off by turning the potentiometer counterclockwise.
Channel selection
Select the desired channel by pressing the UP and DOWN keys on the microphone
or the Up and Down arrows on the radio. Note: in Romania, channel 22 is used.
Transmission and Reception
Press the PTT key on the microphone to transmit. Release the PTT key to receive.
Check the received and transmitted signal level via the 6 signal bars on the radio
screen.
Manual Squelch (SQ)
Shortly press the SQ key to activate the manual squelch function. The current
