L) Do not blow too hard into the device, as this can damage the sensor,
especially if a lot of saliva gets into the device when blowing.
M) Do not store the device near alcohol-based agents such as disinfec-
tants or solvents and do not use them to clean the device.
Preparation for the test
1. Open the battery compartment cover on the top of the device using the
notch. Insert the AAA battery (alkaline, 1.5 V), included with delivery, into
the battery compartment. Make sure that the polarity (+/-) is correct when
inserting the battery and when replacing it later.
2. Insert a mouthpiece into the opening on the right-hand side of the
device. Make sure that the mouthpiece is firmly in place. Use a new
mouthpiece for each test subject to ensure proper hygiene and main-
tain measurement accuracy, as a used mouthpiece may contain resi-
dual alcohol inside.
Carrying out the test
Press the power button for about 1 second until the device beeps and
the ACE logo appears on the display. The device goes through a short
warm-up phase, which is indicated by an hourglass on the display. As soon
as the device is ready for use, a pictogram of a person blowing appears
on the display, accompanied by an acoustic signal.
Note
The device switches off automatically after about 10 seconds without per-
forming any further tests. Before switching off, a beep sounds and „Power
Off" is shown on the display. Another beep is then emitted and the device
switches off completely. You can also switch off the breathalyzer manually
by pressing and holding the start button for 2-3 seconds. Shortly before
switching off, you will hear a beep and „Power Off" will appear on the dis-
play at the same time.
