cartridge exchange symbol will light up red. Please
exchange your MAXTRA PRO cartridge now follow-
ing the instructions in the section "02. Before first
use, 2. Preparing the MAXTRA PRO water filter".
After you have exchanged the MAXTRA PRO wa-
ter filter press the cartridge exchange symbol for
3 seconds and the light will turn off. The cartridge
exchange reminder then starts calculating the time
for the next exchange.
If the appliance has been switched off or discon-
nected from the power supply, the cartridge ex-
change reminder will not continue to count during
this time. The automatic cartridge exchange re-
minder will therefore not remind you to exchange
the cartridge after 4 weeks. In this case, please en-
sure that you exchange the cartridge after 4 weeks.
If you want to replace your cartridge before the sym-
bol lights up, you can reset the cartridge exchange
reminder as follows: Unlock the device, press the
Temperature+ and Volume- buttons simultaneously
for 3 seconds (the cartridge exchange symbol will
light up). Afterwards press the cartridge exchange
symbol for 3 seconds to turn-off the light and reset
the MAXTRA life calculation.
05. Hygiene and cleaning
Ensuring hygiene: If your BRITA Cube has not been
used for 24 hours, the cleaning symbol will light up.
Please use the highest temperature setting for the
first cup and pour it away. The cleaning symbol then
disappears automatically and you can now use your
BRITA Cube as desired.
Automatic cleaning: The cleaning symbol on the
display also reminds you to clean the inside of your
BRITA Cube every 3 months. The automatic clean-
ing takes 4-5 minutes and uses 750ml of water.
Please make sure that there is enough water in the
tank and that a sufficiently large container is place
under the outlet. Press the cleaning symbol for 2
seconds and the cleaning process will start auto-
matically. During the cleaning process, the machine
alternately dispenses water at room temperature
and boiled water. Please ensure that you do not
scald yourself. The symbol flashes during cleaning
and then goes off automatically.
If you want to skip cleaning, press the Temperature+
button for 3 seconds until the symbol goes out.
Manual cleaning: Unlock the machine and press the
Temperature + button for 3 seconds, the self-clean-
ing function will be activated. Then follow the
self-cleaning process.
We recommend thorough cleaning of the inside of
your BRITA Cube in the following situations:
- First use
- Every month
- Re-use after a longer period of non-use
Cleaning the appliance parts: Clean the tank and
funnel regularly. The water tank, funnel and lid can
be removed for cleaning. Please wash these parts
by hand with cold or lukewarm water. The surfaces
of your BRITA Cube can be cleaned with a neutral,
non-abrasive cleaning agent. Please prevent water
from entering the device during cleaning.

06. Sound adjustment
Your BRITA Cube offers 3 sound levels: mute, me-
dium volume and high volume. To adjust the sound,
press the "+" button on the cup volume for 3 sec-
onds and the sound will switch to the next level.
07. Disposal / Recycling
The BRITA Cube water dispenser for home should
not be disposed of with normal household waste.
Follow your local authority guidelines for the sepa-
rate collection of electrical and electronic products.
Correct disposal helps prevent negative conse-
quences for the environment and human health.
Please dispose of the BRITA Cube and cartridge
responsibly, following local guidelines. Ensure the
cartridge remains unopened. Packaging and labels
should be disposed in accordance with the local
regulations.
