02. Before first use
1. Cleaning
Clean your BRITA Cube before the first use. Both
the water tank and the lid on the tank are remova-
ble. To remove the water tank, hold it by the handle
and lift it vertically upwards. The tank lid is attached
to the tank and can be easily removed when the
sliding lid is open. Please clean your BRITA Cube
only by hand with cold or lukewarm water.
To reinsert the water tank, insert it from top to bot-
tom and make sure that the hook on the back of the
water tank fits properly into the recess in the ma-
chine. If the water tank is not inserted correctly, the
empty water tank indicator will continue to flash.
2. Preparing the MAXTRA PRO water filter
BRITA can only guarantee optimum filtration if
BRITA MAXTRA PRO water filters are used. Fill the
clean tank with cold water. Immerse the water filter
and shake slightly to remove any excess air. Remove
the water filter and pour away the water in the tank.
3. Inserting the MAXTRA PRO water filter
Insert the funnel into the tank and place the water
filter firmly in the funnel. Please push the water fil-
ter further downwards if the water does not flow
through.
4. Filling the tank
Always fill the funnel with cold tap water. Only tap
water from municipal water treatment plants may
be used - only this meets the legal requirements
for drinking water quality. The water in the funnel
is filtered automatically and flows into the tank and
from there inside the appliance.
5. Activating the MAXTRA PRO water filter
For optimal taste and performance please allow
two full funnels of tap water to pass through the
filter before drinking. To join BRITA in considering
the environment, you can use this filtered water to
water your plants.
6. Power on!
Connect the power cable and switch the appliance
on at the back. The control panel will light up for 3
seconds, then the device will automatically switch
to standby mode.
7. Cleaning the inside of your BRITA Cube
Please run the automatic cleaning process as de-
scribed in section "05. Hygiene and cleaning".
03. Start using
1. Unlocking the device
Press the child lock for 2 seconds. The appliance
is unlocked when the child lock light is off. Note:
After 60 seconds without use, your BRITA Cube will
switch to standby mode and the childlock symbol
will light up. All other buttons are deactivated. (The
reminder message for replacing the water filter,
emptying the water tank and cleaning the appli-
ance are not affected by standby mode).
2. Select temperature and quantity
The temperature and quantity can be set using the
+/- button. Your BRITA Cube automatically displays
the last setting used.
3. Water dispensing
Press the start button to dispense water.
4. Stop dispensing water
Press any button to stop water dispensing.
04. Filter exchange
Your BRITA Cube reminds you automatically to re-
place the BRITA MAXTRA PRO water filter. For op-
timal taste and a long lifetime of your BRITA Cube
appliance we recommend always using the BRITA
MAXTRA PRO Limescale Expert cartridge.
After 21 days the cartridge exchange symbol will
light up orange indicating that you have 7 more
