Operating instructions
Inserting the transmitter's battery
Check to make sure the transmitter is switched off
(switch position OFF).
2. Remove the fastening screw with a Phillips screwdriver.
3. Push the battery compartment cover away in the direc-
tion of the arrow.
4. Insert the battery with correct polarity orientation (as
marked in the bottom of the compartment).
Close the cover.

6. Screw in the fastening screw again.
Charging the drive battery
. Insert 8 fresh A.A batteries (not included) into
the charger unit (pay attention that all batteries
are inserted with correct polarity). Now push
the switch into the position marked "AAX8".
2. Connectthe rechargeablebattery.Th9 connec-
tor system is keyed against polarity reversal.
Always pay attention that the connector is
properly connected because it is possible to
connect it with reverse polarity if brute force is
applied.
3. Once the rechargeable battery is connected,
the green LED indicates that it is being charged. After about 40 minutes the green LED will switch off to
indicate the battery is charged. Be sure not to overcharge the battery!
4. When the batteryis fully charged,disconnectit from the charger and put the switch into the "DC12V"
position.
NOTE: charging time begins when the connection is made. The charging time for a fully discharged re-
chargeable battery is about 40 minutes. In any case, at the end of this time disconnect the rechargeable
battery.The chargingprocessmustbe monitored.If the rechargeablebatteryor one of the chargingdry-
cells becomeexcessivelywarm duringthe charging processthen disconnectthe rechargeablebattery
right away. However, a slight warming. noticeable by touch, is normal.
NOTE: the rechargeable battery is not pre-charged at the factory !
Placing the drive battery in the model
Place the model on the delivered ship stand.
. Remove the cockpit by carefully opening its clamp
latch.
2. Place the battery into the left side of the model. It is to
be secured in place with the hook-and-loop ribbon.
3. Connect the connector carefully into the connector jack
on the speed regulator. Here too, the information in the
paragraph "Charging the drive battery" is to be Ob-
served. Lay the cable into the model such that it cannot
become caught up by the rotating drive shaft when the
model iS operated.
Replacethe cockpit onto the model and secure it in place.The clamp latch must be clean and detent

securely.
NOTE:the blacksealingring must alwaysbe laid preciselyin its grooveas this model is only properly
sealed when it is positioned exactly. A little water intrusion is normal despite this seal.

Transmitter functions

4' When the transmitter is switched on (switch position ON) and the
power supply is operating, the LED will light up red.
Throttle regulation
transmitter's trigger-like throttle regulator controls the model's
speed. The more this control is pulled back, the faster the
model will run. If the throttle control is released, the motor will
2+0 Stop immediately and the model will come to a standstill after
a bit of over-travel.

2. Rudder control (left,'right):the model will turn into a curve by
moving the control wheel. A forward turn of the control will
cause the model to turn to the right. turning the control back
will cause the model to tum left. The more turn applied to the
control wheel, the smaller the model's curve radius becomes.
NOTE: the model is structurally designed for an oval course
run clockwise. Therefore it is better at making right turns.
NOTE: in order to achieve very small curve radii it is neces-
sary to throttle back the model's speed. This applies in partic-
ular for left turns.
Fine trimming the model
If your model do not run in a straight line when not
being steered. you can adjust it by using the stee-
ring trim located on the upper right hand side of the
transmitter.
Run your model on calm water when adjusting the
steering. If your model runs to the right when not
being steered, press the „ST.TRIM-L' button.
Re-center the model
the problem. Keep making small adjustments in this
way until the model runs straight.
Press the „ST.TRIM-R" button to correct if your
model steers to the left without being steered in the
same way as detailed above.
Trimming the model
In order to trim the model, move the battery forwards in order
to push the bow down. This will reduce hopping.
If the model is pushed too much down, move the battery back
towards the stem.
Maiden voyage
Charge the battery and test the model's functions. Press the cockpit securely into place so that it will not fall
Off.Now the maiden voyage can begin.
Take the time during the maiden voyage to become familiar with the model's maneuvering behavior. Test the
steering behavior. braking overtravel and RC range.
Now have a lot of fun with your PARASIT model...'
