7 Care and maintenance

7.1

Care

The device may be cleaned with a damp cloth and regular cleaning products. Do not use any
abrasive products. Disinfectants to be used: methylated spirit; isopropanol; 2% Kohrsolin;
1% aqueous Sokrena solution; 5% Sagrotan; 5% Gigasept. Do not spray directly on the
device or the power adapter.
7.2

Interference

In accordance with European directive 2004/108/EC this device is interference suppressed.
However, the display reading can be affected by extreme electrostatic or electromagnetic
interference, e .g. using a radio or mobile phone in the immediate vicinity of the equipment.
Once the interference stops the product may revert to normal operation. It may be necessary
to restart the scale. If the error persists contact your vendor or the BodyTel support. This
device is a measuring instrument. Draft, vibrations, rapid temperature changes and direct
exposure to sunlight may affect the reading. Avoid high air humidity levels, steam, abrasive
fluids and contamination.
Disposal of used electrical and electronic appliances
According to our present knowledge the scale contains no environmentally harmful
substances. This product is not to be treated as regular household waste, but should be
handed in to an electrical/ electronic equipment recycling center. You can obtain further
details from your local council, your municipal waste disposal company or the company from
which you purchased the product.
Maintenance
A metrological check has been performed by the manufacturer. Re-calibration must be
carried out in accordance with national regulations. Repairs must only be carried out by an
authorized shop using original parts.
