Safety
This chapter provides important
information for the safe operation and
maintenance of the slat blind.
It sets out the intended use and the con-
ditions for an operationally safe condition.
It also provides information on the specific
risks that may arise with the use of the
blind as well as any danger zones.
Failure to observe the safety instructions
could result in accidents causing serious
injury to persons or damage to property.
2.1
Intended use
The slat blind is designed for glare, light,
and sight protection and to adjust the
solar energy input into the building.
Compliance with the following conditions
also falls under the stipulations for
intended use:
Operationally safe condition of the
blinds
Operated only within the scope of its
technical design
Observance of the instruction
manual,
in particular the care and mainte-
nance
instructions.
All other uses deviating from or not speci-
fied as its intended use, are considered to
be improper use. The manufacturer is not
liable for the resulting damages.
2.2
Operationally safe condition
The slat blind may only be operated when
it is in an operationally safe condition
and under observance of this instruction
manual. The operationally safe condition
is ensured when all of the requirements
below are fulfilled:
There are no obvious damages, faults
or hazards
The slat blind is in its original con-
dition.
If the conditions are no longer operation-
ally safe, the slat blind must be stopped at

2.3
General dangers
The slat blind could pose the following
dangers:
Dangers due to live current – Risk
of death from live parts! If a person
comes into contact with the live parts,
this could result in fatal consequenc-
es or serious injuries.
Only qualified service and
maintenance personnel may
carry out maintenance and repair
work on electrical parts.
Switch off all electrical parts
before all maintenance work and
secure them against switching
on again.
Before starting the work, check
the electrical parts are not live.
Risk of crushing or cutting – When
moving the blind up and down or
adjusting its setting, injuries may be
sustained to the hand as it may get
pulled inside and crushed or cut.
Do not reach into the moving
parts of the blind.
Keep remote controls away from
children.
Risk of falling – Falling is a risk inher-
ent with working at height and could
result in serious injuries.
Never carry out any work at
height without the corresponding
fall protection.
Only trained personnel who do
not suffer from a fear of heights
should work in high positions.
2.4
Risk of damage to property
Strong wind – High wind loads can
damage the blinds.
Only operate the blind within
the wind speeds recommended
for its use (see Annex I on page
30).
