Niederdrücken der Taste
DOLBY NR bewirkt,
daß
durch die
Dolby-Schaltung die
Signale
mit
kleinem
Pegel
bei der Aufnahme mehr als die
Signale
mit
mittlerem
und
hohem Pegel
verstärk
werden.
Dadurch
ist
der Abstand der niedrigen Signalpegel
vom Rauschpegel des Bandes größer
geworden.
Bei
der Wiedergabe
wi¡d
die Wirkung dieser Anhebung
durch eine
entgegengesetzt
wirkende
Schaltung
soweit kompensiert, daß das Bandrauschen nahezu
unhörbar wird.

es notwendig,

Switch

activates
the Dolby circuit to
raise
low
level
signals
before
they are
recorded
and lowers them

precisely
the

process eliminates extraneous

superimposed

eliminating tape hiss.
