Operation
Switching on and off
– Remove blade guard.
– Switching on: Press the switch lock (3) and simul-
taneously press the On/Off switch (4).
– Switching off: Release the switch (3) and On/Off
switch (4) together.
– After switching off wait until the blade is stationary.
– Mount blade guard.
Cutting edges
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit!
Ensure that the cutting mechanism does not
come into contract with paved floors, stones
or garden walls.
If foreign objects should get caught up in the
cutting unit then switch off the device imme-
diately.
Note: When cutting larger areas of grass,
we recommend using the handle rod.
– Guide the device along the edge of the lawn.
Cutting hedges
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit! Be
especially careful when working near
fences!
If cut material such as fence wire or similar
material should get caught up in the cutting
unit then switch off the device immediately.
NOTICE! Risk of environmental damage!
Work with the hedge trimmer is not allowed
during customary rest periods.
Before cutting a hedge, check that there are
no birds nesting.
– Trim smoothly with the broad side of the cutting
equipment. Do not push the point into the hedge.
Tips on hedge trimming

1. Trim the hedge to the desired height.
2. Rejuvenate the hedge by trimming it from the bot-
tom up in trapezoidal form.
3. Round off the upper edges of the hedge.

Cleaning

Do not submerge the device in water when
cleaning it since this would damage the
electrics.

Do not use any sharp or abrasive objects, or
aggressive cleaning agents.
Do not use cleaning solutions.
– Remove any coarse dirt.
– Clean the outside of the device with a damp cloth.
Charging the battery
CAUTION! Risk of injury! Comply with all
safety instructions when handling recharge-
able devices.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit! Do
not allow the battery to deep discharge.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit! Do
not press the on/off switch after the device
has deactivated automatically.
Note: The battery must be charged prior to
the first start-up. (Charging period: ► Tech-
nical data – p. 32).
Note: The Li-Ion battery can be charged at
any time without affect the lifetime of the bat-
tery. Interrupting the charging process will
not damage the battery.

– Insert the charger cable into the connection for
the battery charger (6).
– Plug the charger into the socket.
• The check light for the charging station (5) shows
the state of charge of the battery:
– Red control lamp shines: Battery is recharging.
– Red control lamp goes out: Battery is fully
charged.
Troubleshooting

repairs may mean that your unit will no
longer operate safely. This endangers you
and your environment.
Malfunctions are often caused by minor faults. You
can easily remedy most of these yourself. Please
consult the following table before contacting the ven-
dor. You will save yourself a lot of trouble and possibly
money too.
