Charging a USB device
The radio's USB port can be used to charge USB devices.
The USB port has an output power of 5V / 1A.
When the radio is powered from the mains, external USB
devices can always be charged, even when the radio is in
Standby mode.
When the radio is battery operated, external USB devices
cannot be charged if the radio is turned off.
To charge a USB device (e.g. iPhone, smartphone or
similar device), just open the rubber cover on the right
side of the radio and insert / connect it to the USB port.
After charging has finished, don't forget to remove /
disconnect the device again and close the rubber cover to
prevent moist or dust from entering the radio.
Charge time may vary and in some cases may take longer
to charge than when using the manufacturers charging
unit supplied with the smart phone.
IMPORTANT:
● The maximum volume of the output power speaker will
decrease when your USB is charging.
● The radio may not supply power to some USB devices.
● Do not connect power source to USB port.
Otherwise there is risk of fire. The USB port is only
intended for charging lower voltage device. Always
close the rubber cover when not charging the lower
voltage device.
● Do not insert a nail, wire, etc. into USB power supply
port. Otherwise a circuit short may cause smoke and
fire.
● Do not connect this USB socket with your PC USB port,
as it is highly possible that it may cause breakdown of
the units.
AUX IN socket
A 3.5mm Auxiliary input socket is provided on the
your radio to permit an audio signal to be fed into the unit
from an external audio device such as iPod, MP3 or CD
player.
1.
Press the Power button to switch on your radio.
2.
Select the AUX IN mode by repeatedly pressing the
Source button.
3.
Open the rubber cover and then connect the external
audio source to the Auxiliary input socket.
4.
Adjust the volume setting on your external audio source
to ensure an adequate signal level from the player, and
then rotate the Volume knob on the radio as needed for
comfortable listening.
Note:
Make sure the rubber cover is closed well after use to
prevent moist and dirt from entering the radio.
Never use the Aux In socket in rainy or moist conditions
to prevent moist from entering the radio. Keep the rubber
cover always closed under these conditions.
Note:
After 15 minutes of no signal output in AUX mode, the idle
power consumption in this mode is less than 0.8W, or the
power consumption in off mode is less than 0.3W.
The Auto-Power management function will be activated in
AUX mode. If there is no signal from the AUX input jack
for a period over 15 minutes, the unit will automatically
switch to standby (or off) mode. Pressing the Power
button will turn on the unit.
