Second
Selectrix
Data
Each processing channel (address) of the central unit
can be used either to run a locomotive
turnouts, uncouplers, semaphores or color light signals,
etc. or to detect track occupancy of 8 areas of track
(blocks, station tracks).
If on larger model railroad layouts the 104 channels
(addresses 0 to 103) of the Central-Control 2000 or the
112 channels (addresses Oto 111) of the Central Unit I
or II are not sufficient to operate locomotives and acces-
sories and detect occupation
provides a second set of 112 processing channels
through a second, synchronized Selectrix data bus.
These processing channels (addresses Oto 111 on the
second data bus) are not available for running loco-
motives. They allow, however, to connect and operate
turnouts, signals, uncouplers, etc. and to detect the occu-
pation of track areas through the appropriate input and
output devices (controllers, Function Decoders, Track
OccupancyDetectors,track diagram control board with
Encoder A and B, Computer Interface).
There is no data exchange between the processing
channels
of the data bus of the central unit and the data
bus of the Translater. The system status central unit on
or off, however, is fed into the second data bus.

If all devices for operating accessories and for track
occupation detection are connected to this second
data bus, all channels on the central unit are available
for operating
locomotives.
Connecting the Translater to the Central Unit
The sx socket
of the Translater is connected to the sx
socket
of the Central-Control
of the Central
Unit I or Central Unit II, using the
5-conductor DIN-plug bus cable included with the Trans-
later, if required by means of a Selectrix 4-Way Bus
Connector (66586).
All
controllers
for
locomotives,
Computer Interface, are connected to the data bus
of the central
unit.
Connecting to the Second Selectrix Data Bus
All controllers
for accessories,
Track Occupation
Detectors and display
including
Computer Interface, if required, are con-
nected to the Translater, Socket Px (Selectrix data
bus 2, Sx-2).
Setting the Mode of Operation
The rear wire jumper (pin 1) on the adjustment block
must be inthe open position, the frontwirejumper (pin2)
must be in the closed position.
