DE
The raclette appliance is the center of a
pleasurable social meal with each person
GB
at the table preparing his / her own gour-
met pan.
It is not only the typical Swiss raclette
FR
meal consisting of raclette cheese and
potatoes boiled in their jackets you can
feast on but also other specialities that
NL
may be prepared in the pans. Let your
imagination guide you.
Sausages, skewers or steaks can be gril-
led at the same time on the grill top. n
additional touch is achieved when cove-
ring the food with a slice of cheese and
baking it „au gratin".
Make sure that the raclette meal is served
on preheated plates.
Putting into operation
Before first use clean the pans and the
grill top with hot water and a small quan-
tity of washing-up liquid. Rub dry care-
fully afterwards. Spread a few drops of oil
onto the grill top and rub the grill top. If
excessive oil is used during preparation
or during grilling, it may burn into the gril-
ling plate. It will not be easy to remove
this burnt oil afterwards.
Before starting, heat up the appliance for
10 minutes with the grilling bowl but wit-
hout the pans.
s soon as the plug is connected, the red
control lamp indicates that the appliance
is connected to the mains supply. Switch
the control unit for preheating and grilling
to the highest degree. If you want to pre-
pare a raclette, choose a lower setting
according to the kind of ingredients. If the
control unit is adjusted to the lower third,
the food can be kept warm.

Non-stick coating
For preparing the food always use a woo-
den spatula. Do not use any sharp and
pointed tools on the coating which can
be easily scratched.
During the first use of the new appliance
a small quantity of smoke may develop.
This is due to technical reasons and no
cause to worry.
Important! The appliance cannot be
switched off at the control unit. Be sure
therefore to pull out the plug after use.
Grilling
Separate the food in pieces which are not
too big and which have a thickness of 1
cm maximum.
Season the food before grilling and salt it
afterwards to better retain its juice. Sausa-
ges, tender steaks, minced steaks, meat
loaf or fish are most suitable for grilling.
Tomatoes, aubergines and pineapples cut
in slices can be prepared very well and are
especially tasty.
Pierce fat sausages before putting them
on the grill stone to avoid fat spitting. The
duration of grilling depends on the kind
and thickness of the food.
Never cut meat or other food on the grill
top.
Preparing a raclette meal
For a typical Swiss raclette meal you
should calculate per person 200 to 300 g
raclette cheese with a minimum fat con-
tent of 45%.
Main side-dishes are potatoes boiled in
their jacket. Pearl onions and gherkins
can be served also.
Smoked meat a la „Bündner" or other
smoked meats, salami or other tasty sau-
sages go together well with the cheese.
Cut the cheese in 5 mm slices. Put one
slice in a pan and as soon as the pan is in
