c) The earmuffs can be pulled upwards or downwards as required in order to adapt
them optimally to the position of the ears. (Figure 3)
d) Wear the hearing protector so that the double arrows on the earmuffs point forwards.
(Figure 4)
e) A hearing protector that cannot be adjusted for a close fit does not attenuate the noise
as specified and must, therefore, not be used. Please contact your PPI responsible
person or PROTOS®.
5. Materials
The hearing protection earmuffs are made of ABS and are recyclable. The bracket is made
from stainless steel wire and TPS, the pads are made of PVC & PU foam, the retaining
bracket is made of PA & GF and the absorption inserts are made of PU foam. Please pay
attention to local regulations for recycling and disposal.
6. Cleaning
Clean the hearing protector regularly with lukewarm soapy water (do not immerse in
water!). This product may be affected by certain chemical substances. Improper cleaning
and maintenance may impair the protective effect and negatively affect the service life
of the product. Further information can be requested from the manufacturer.
7. Storage
The PROTOS® earmuff hearing protector should be protected against extreme temperatures,
direct sunlight and humidity during storage. For this, see the values given in Figure 1.
Storage with protection against UV radiation and heat, e. g. in the delivery packaging,
prevents the material from ageing. If the sound insulation inserts have become damp, they
dry best if they are stored with the earmuff opening facing upwards. Also make sure that
the pads are not pressed during storage and that the bracket is not stretched.
