1.5. Product-specific safety instructions

•
Check the unit thoroughly for possible damage. Never use a damaged unit.
•
Store all labels and nameplates on the unit well, they contain important information.
•
Never reach for a rotating cable.
•
Avoid unintentionally starting the device.
•
Never leave the appliance unattended during operation.
•
Do not stop the cutter while the machine is running. This can overload the cable and cause twisting or
damage.
•
During operation, always leave a hand protected by a suitable glove on the cable. This ensures better
control.
•
Before each operation, all bolts, nuts and other connections should be checked for strength.
•
Never use the device while standing in the water.
•
Never operate the device without a belt guard.
•
Place the drain cleaner within approximately 50-60 cm of the drain opening. Greater distances may
cause twisting or kinking of the cables.
•
Both the cable and the foot pedal must be controlled by one person in order to be able to stop the
device at short notice if necessary.
•
Reversed direction of rotation of the motor only when pulling the cable out of the pipe or from an
obstacle. Attempting to push the cable through the tube in reverse may result in cable damage. Make
sure that the drum stops spinning before you change the main switch.
•
Keep hands away from the rotating drum and manifold. Do not touch the drum if the power cord is not
disconnected.
•
Protective equipment must be worn when using drain cleaning equipment. Outflows can contain
chemicals, bacteria, and other substances that can be toxic, infectious, burning, or otherwise
problematic. Always wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and heavy work gloves. Latex or rubber gloves,
face shields, goggles, protective clothing, respirators and safety shoes are helpful.
•
Thoroughly wash and disinfect hands after use.
•
Do not eat, drink or smoke during operation.
•
People with pacemakers should consult their doctor before use.
