1. General
The RSU-871is a communicationadapter to remotelycontrol thesetup functions of the ICD-870or
ICD-703 camera by an RS-232C interface.The user must programthe RSU-871 according to the

Protocol Specifications which comes with the Operation Manual.
If any electronic device is connected between the RSU-871 and a camera, it is impossible to re.
motely control the camera.
2. Features
(1) RS-232C interface compatible
Compatible witl the RS-232C which is the most popular communication interface, the adapter is

(2) Single coaxial cable

It is not necessary to use an extra cable between the RSIJ-871 and a camera. Just a single
coaxial cable permits simple setting.
(3) Max. cable length 500m

Becausethe RSU-871 is equipped with a compensation amplifier, the maximum cable length
beWeen the RSIJ-871and a camerais 500mby a single 5C-2V coaxial cable.
(4) Compact
Small and light-weight,the adapter can also be installed in a camera housing or terminal box.
