Insert batteries
In order to maintain all the settings and the time even during a blackout, two batte-
ries (not supplied) can be inserted in the battery compartment on the bottom of the
device. The radio functions also during a blackout or if the cable is not inserted in
the socket!
•
Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the device.
•
Insert 2 AAA type 1.5V batteries in the battery holder as illustrated in the battery
compartment. Make sure that the poles are arranged correctly.

Close the battery compartment.
Insert the plug in a duly installed 230V/50Hz socket.
Set the time automatically
•
Once the plug is inserted in the socket, the broadcasting station symbol (upper
left hand) and the time zone symbol (MUN) start to flash on the display. After a
few seconds the display changes and "- -" and the flashing broadcasting station
symbol (upper left hand) appear on the display. On the right hand, near the das-
hes, the seconds display appears. Make sure that the seconds increase! If this
is not the case, re-direct the built-in antenna (not the extensible antenna) by tur-
ning the appliance!

After a few minutes the time data is taken automatically from the broadcasting
station. The exact time appears on the display. The broadcasting symbol lights
up.
•
The time is reset automatically every 12 hours via the broadcasting signal.
Should the time not be correct even after a long operating period, you can start
the automatic reset also by pressing the relevant button. Press the receive but-
ton (1). The broadcasting signal appears on the display. As long as it flashes, the
