the same time
• Slide cap on until it catches positively on the catch
hooks
• Again push silver clip in, pressing both operating but-
tons at the same time
• Slide on handwheel till stop
• Perform tightness check and initiating pressure check
2.5 Visual and Function Check
• Perform visual check of AutoMaXX and check all oper-
ating functions
2.6 Tightness Check
The AutoMaXX should be checked without as well
as with medium pressure.
Without Medium Pressure
• Switch off AutoMaXX with red operating button
• Connect AutoMaXX to a leak tester with the connecting
adapter (see Ordering Information)
• Create a positive pressure of +7.5 mbar at the leak
tester and maintain it for 60 seconds, observing the
pressure change
The pressure change must not exceed 0.3 mbar within
a time period of 60 seconds.
With Medium Pressure
• Switch off AutoMaXX with red operating button
• Connect medium pressure line to a pressure reducer
• Open cylinder valve
• Connect AutoMaXX to a leak tester with a connecting
adapter and observe pressure change
The pressure must not increase more than
1 mbar during 60 seconds.
2.7 Closing Pressure Check
• Switch off lung governed demand valve and connect to
a pressure reducer
• Connect lung governed demand valve directly or via the
hose of the test adapter to the test equipment. Close all
lines of the test device.
In order to prevent damage to unsecured test
equipment from positive pressure, use the hose of
the test adapter and close the connection between
the AutoMaXX and the test equipment.
• Switch on lung governed demand valve by pushing the
flushing button
• In the case of using the hose of the test adapter: Please
open this hose. Using venting device of test equipment
release a volume flow of 5 l/min
• After closing the venting device, the static pressure
must be less than 3.9 mbar
If the closing pressure should be greater than 3.9
mbar, the positive pressure spring of the diaphragm
must be replaced.
2.8 Overhaul
• Overhaul of the AutoMaXX may only be performed by
MSA or service personnel authorized by MSA
2.9 Storage
• The AutoMaXX should be stored switched on in a dry,
dust-free and clean room at approx. 20°C
2.10 Malfunction
• In case of malfunctions the AutoMaXX must be checked
by MSA or trained service personnel
