4.2 Cooling and mounting

Sufficient cooling increases the efficiency a n d
lifespan of the ESC. When mounting the ESC to
the model, make sure to mount it with the
cooling plate facing upward. If using a h ea t sink, it
should be placed fins up, and uncovered. When
installing the heatsink, for the best transfer
between the cooling compo nents, KONTRONIK
recommends attaching the h eat sin k with a thermal
paste. For more cooling, you may attach a fan by
screwing it onto the heat sink and plugging it
directly into the JIVE Pro.
4.3 BEC
The JIVE Pro ESC has a switched BEC.
Compared to general BEC-systems the capa city
of the BEC is designed to be independent of the
input voltage. This allows the usage of the BEC at
higher voltages. In addition, the JIVE Pro features
a high interference r e j ect i o n.

ATTENTION: please ensure the servos and

v oltage
O peration without BEC:
When operating without BEC, the red receiver
cable is to be disconnected or removed .

4.4 Torodial core

The factory mounted torodial core on the receiver
cable allows suppression of in te r fe rence. It must
not be removed from the cable for security
reasons, but it can be moved, i f necessary,
anywhere within the cab l e.
Never remove the torodial core from the cable!
Itcan be moved within the cable to any position, but
take care for tight fit of the cables afterwards

4.5 Active freewheeling circuit

To optimize the efficiency of partial load operation
and to reduce heating of the ESC, the JIVE Pro
features an active freewheeling circuit. The active
freewheeling circuit should not be used at very
low throttle settings as this may result in
discontinuity of motor RPM.

4.6 Part load capability

Due to its active freewheeling circuit, the ESC
may be operated in partial load conditions if you
do not exceed the JIVE Pro's continuous current
limits during operation.

4.7 Sensorless Commutation

JIVE Pro ESCs work without sensors insi de the
motor via a 3D recognition sys tem . Commutation
of the motor will a u tomat i ca lly be optimized for the
app li cat i o n.

4.8 Variable clock frequency

The JIVE Pro ESC uses a clock frequency of
32 kHz, or higher. Depending on the operational
