2 Safety
2.1 Explanation of the warning notices
Safety and warning notices denote safety-related information. The operating manual differentiates between the
following hazard levels.
DANGER
Fatal injuries
Denotes a hazardous situation. Failure to observe these warnings may result in serious
injuries or death.
WARNING
Serious injuries
Denotes a hazardous situation. Failure to observe these warnings may result in serious
injuries.
CAUTION
Injuries
Denotes a hazardous situation. Failure to observe these warnings may result in minor or
midrange injuries.
NOTICE
Material damage
Denotes warnings of material damage and includes precautionary measures for preventing
damage.
2.2 Protection
The valve does not have any special protective equipment. It is not fireproof and thus not designed for cases of
fire. In case of fire, the valve must be taken out of operation and not reused without being checked first for
damage.
Because the valve is made of stainless steel, no corrosion allowance was used in the calculation.
Service life
The valve is designed for an alternating load in accordance with AD 2000 S1-S2:
approx. 1000 start-up and shut-down processes (-1 bar or 0 bar to PS) permissible,
continuous load permissible at 10% of pressure variation (from 0 to PS).
WARNING
Hazard due to hot or cold surfaces.
Risk of burns when touching hot or cold surfaces or leaking medium from the valve. The
surface of the valve can be hot or cold because of hot or cold medium! Wear personal
protective equipment, according to the medium: Skin or eye protection. Observe operator's
safety measures.
