4.3 Positioning the camera
1.
Put the head to the level and apply the hori-
zontal and vertical brake. Put the camera on
the fluid head.
2.
Turn the vertical drag setting to "1" position.
3.
Switch on the counterbalance springs by
twisting the balance button in right direction.
4.
Hold the camera by securing the pan arm and
release the vertical brake.
5.
Open the lock of the sliding balance plate
(turn red lever underneath the balance plate).
Compensate for a backheavy setup by sliding
the balance plate forwards and for a front-
heavy setup by sliding backwards.
6.
If you can't manage to centre the camera, you
should move the camera plate to a different
position on the tripod mounting adaptor and
start again at point 1.
7.
If you can't centre the camera in spite of shift-
ing the balance plate, this means the camera
is still front- or back heavy. You can then lock
in the counterbalance beside the centre posi-
tion at 12 or 24 deg on the front and the back.
8.
Lock the balance plate by turning the red lever
into its initial position.
9.
If you tilt the head to 45°, the camera should
stay on its position.
10. If the camera returns back to its horizontal posi-
tion, switch off the counterbalance or snap in
the sping in one of the three positions beside
the "zero-point". (The weight of the camera is
too low)
ATTENTION !
The switch off of the counterbalance (mark on the button is left) is immediately operative
in every camera position. The switch on is not operative until springs are engaged, by tilt-
ing the camera vertically (locking lever snaps audibly)
