8. Operating the transmitter
Both sticks have two functions each. Each stick has a horizontal and
a vertical plane. One vertical plane has a non-neutralizing function.
When supplied the non-neutralizing throttle function is on the left
stick (Mode 2). Trim adjustment is possible on all four joystick func-
tions. The relevant trim sliders are flush with the transmitter casing
alongside the joysticks.
Changing the direction of servo
On the Nova 4+1 transmitter the direction of all 4 control functions
can be separately reversed electronically without opening the
transmitter. Therefore servo installation in the model does not have
to take the operating direction into account. That means that pushrods can be fitted to ensure optimum
alignment. The servo direction can be set later. There are 4 dip switches on the front near the bottom of the
transmitter casing to change the servo direction. The 4 switches are marked with „CH1" for channel 1 to
„CH4" for channel 4. If the switches are up the normal direction is set. To reverse servo direction throw the
respective switch in the opposite direction. It is best to use a small screwdriver to move the switches as they
are slightly recessed. This design eliminates the risk of moving the switches unintentionally.
9. Notes for operation
Switching sequence
Always turn on the transmitter first, then the receiver. When turning off, do so in the opposite way.
After switching on the receiver place the servo horns in the centre position. Before releasing the model all
functions must be checked by moving the sticks. Make sure the servos are moving the control surfaces in the
right direction. If a servo is turning in the wrong way the direction must be reversed.
