Connection module, 5-pole, with facility for the integration of rail-mounted devices (3 modu-
lar spacing)
Personnel which installs and operates or maintains this device must have read and under-
stood these instructions.
WAR NING
Electric installations, placing devices into operation and maintenance tasks may only be
carried out by qualified electricians with relevant training in accident prevention and
while adhering to applicable regulations.
Protective measures and mechanisms must correspond to applicable regulations.
Damaged products must neither be installed nor put into operation.
Connect or disconnect only when de-energized!
Before performing work on the power bus or the connected components the cable and
components must be disconnected from the mains.
Handling the penetrating contact screws:
• Use a pneumatic or electric screwdriver.
• Use a Torx 15 × 50 screw blade, see ordering information.
• The contact screws are correctly tightened if the white depth gauge ferrules are level
with the surface of the housing.
• The piercing screws must be screwed in the same position only once. If a screw is loos-
ened, the connection module might be connected again by an offset of a component
length on the cable. The previously terminated position with the open sheath must be
protected by insulating sealing tape, see ordering information.
• Operating the module with damaged or broken screws is not permitted.
• Only original piercing screws from Wieland Electric must be used.
Functional description
The podis® CON FCS connection module is attached to the podis® CON flat cable. The main
and auxiliary power is continuously taken from the flat cable via the connection module. Ad-
ditional rail-mounted devices (3 sub-units) can be inserted in the connection module.
Installation dimensions (specifications in mm)
Cable screw gland not included in delivery. The cable screw gland and lock nut must be or-
dered separately.

Mounting
The base must be even and capable of supporting the weight.
Only the provided drill holes are to be used for fastening to the mounting point. The use
of additional drill holes at other points is not permissible!
1. Insert the connecting module under the flat cable from below. Make sure the coding is
positioned correctly: The coding / level on one of the short sides must match the cod-
ing / level in the connecting module.
2. Mark the center points for the holes, remove the connecting module or push to one
side, drill the fastening holes, and insert dowels, if necessary.
3. Place the connecting module back in position and secure to the wall. Use washers, if
possible.
4. Close the connection plate and tighten the two screws. Torque: 1.2 Nm.
5. Screw all contact screws into the flat cable. Torque: 2.0 Nm.
6. Strip 250 mm of insulation from the round cable for the outlet.
7. Fit the M25 cable screw gland with 3.5 Nm or the M32 cable gland with 5.0 Nm to the
connecting module.
8. Connect the enclosed single cores to the screw-type clamping units L1, L2 and L3 on the
connection plate. Torque: 1.2 Nm (if required, connect to double cable end sleeves
06.600.7200.0 beforehand and carry out Point 10 below first).
9. Pass the round cable for the outlet through the cable screw gland.
10. Position the adapter plate on the connection plate.
11. Connect conductors N and PE of the round cable for the outlet to the respective screw-
type clamping units on the connection plate. Torque: 1.2 Nm.
12. Screw down the adapter plate and pass the connected single cores to the rear (opposite
side of the cable screw gland) under the adapter plate. Ensure that the single cores are
not pinched by the adapter plate. Torque: 1.2 Nm.
13. Attach the enclosed DIN rail to the adapter plate with the enclosed screws. Torque:
1.2 Nm.
14. Mount your rail-mounted device(s) on the DIN rail.
15. Connect the rail-mounted devices with the correct polarity to the single cores which
have already been connected to the connection plate.
16. Connect the single cores of the round cable for the outlet.
17. Set your rail-mounted device to the desired switch position.
18. Close the cover of the connecting module and tighten all four screws. Torque: 1.2 Nm.
Make sure that no wires are crushed.
19. Tighten the cable screw gland.
Disassembly
For disassembly of the connection module proceed in reverse order as described in
6 "Mounting". In doing so, take note of the associated safety information. Note especially
that working under load is specifically prohibited.
