Before using the appliance for the first time, please proceed as follows: carefully unpack the appliance and remove all
packaging material. Keep the packaging (plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. After unpacking the appliance,
carefully check it for external damage that may have occurred during transport. Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface,
near a suitable earthed socket. Ensure sufficient ventilation space around the appliance.
Clean the lid and ceramic insert with warm water and a mild washing-up liquid. Dry these components thoroughly. Ensure that
all moisture is removed. Clean the metal inner pan and exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth. Place the ceramic insert
in the appliance. In spite of cleaning in advance, it is possible that you can sense a slight burning smell from your slow cooker,
due to the production residues that become hot. This smell will disappear after the appliance has been used a few times. Check
that the voltage stated on the information plate matches the mains voltage used in your power system. Insert the plug into an
earthed socket.
Fill the ceramic insert with a little water or with the ingredients of your choice in boiling water. When preparing meat and
vegetables together, put the vegetables in the insert first. Cover the ceramic insert with the glass lid. Switch on the appliance by
setting the selector switch to the required position. The on/off indicator light lights up.
Use LOW to prepare food slowly during the day or night. In the HIGH position, the cooking process will be about half the time.
A dish that is prepared approximately 10 hours at LOW, will take 4 to 6 hours at HIGH. If you select WARM, the slow cooker
maintains a constant temperature once the dish has been cooked and the correct temperature has been reached.
Do not lift the lid while cooking, if this is not necessary. If you lift the lid regularly, this will slow down the cooking process.
CAUTION: when lifting the lid, hot and humid air will escape, which means that you could burn yourself if not careful. Always
pick up the lid at the grip in the centre and preferably use oven gloves.
After preparing the food, set the selector switch to OFF and remove the plug from the socket.
CAUTION: the ceramic insert may crack due to sudden changes in temperature. Therefore, do not submerge the ceramic insert
in cold water.
