LED Panel
Please read the instructions carefully prior
to operation and keep them for later refer-
ence. The chapter "Installation" is intended
for electricians; the chapter "Operation" is
intended for users operating the LED panel.
1 Applications
The LED panel is specially designed for in-
stallation to a ceiling to provide room illumi-
nation. Installation is easy and can be done
in different ways:
1. Installation to suspended ceilings with
grid boards (OWA ceiling grid): Simply
insert the panels.
2. Installation to suspended ceilings with-
out grid boards: The required mounting
frames are available as options (please
refer to "Specifications"/"Accessories").
3. Installation by screwing the panels to the
ceiling: The adequate mounting frames
are available as options (please refer to
"Specifications"/ "Accessories")
4. Suspended installation: Use the rope set
LEDP-4SP.
The LED panel includes a matching power
supply unit which can also be connected to
the 230 V mains via a dimmer.
For convenient operation, one of the
following wireless remote controls is recom-
mended that can be used to adjust bright-
ness and colour temperature. The required
reception and control electronics are inte-
grated in the power supply unit.
LEDP-2RCW
Desktop / Wall-mounted remote control to
operate up to 6 panel groups
LEDP-99RC
Hand-held remote control with many addi-
tional functions to operate up to 99 panel
groups
Any number of remote controls of the same
type can be used.
2 Safety Notes
The LED panel, its power supply unit and
the remote controls correspond to all rele-
vant directives of the EU and are therefore
marked with
.
WARNING The power supply unit uses
dangerous mains voltage.
Leave servicing to skilled per-
sonnel only. Inexpert handling
of the unit may result in elec-
tric shock.
The LED panel, the power supply unit and
the remote controls are suitable for indoor
use only. Protect the units against dripping
water, splash water and high air humid-
ity. The admissible ambient temperature
range is 0 – 40 °C.
Clean the plastic pane of the panel with a
soft cloth, dry or slightly damp. Never use
abrasive detergents or chemicals.
No guarantee claims for the LED panel
and no liability for any resulting personal
damage or material damage will be ac-
cepted if the LED panel is used for other
purposes than originally intended or if it is
not correctly installed or operated.
If the LED panel and its power sup-
ply unit or a remote control are to
be put out of operation definitively,
take them to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful
to the environment.
2.1 Conformity and approval
Herewith, MONACOR INTERNATIONAL
declare that the wireless remote controls
LEDP-2RCW and LEDP-99RC as well as the
power supply unit with reception electronics
comply with the directive 2014 / 53 / EU. The
EU declarations of conformity are available
on the Internet:
www.monacor.com
The units are generally approved for oper-
ation in EU and EFTA countries, they are
licence-free and require no registration.
3 Installation
Note: If the LED panel is to be operated
via one of the remote controls, assign an
address to each panel. When the assignment
has been completed, switch off the panel
(i. e. disconnect it from the mains) within 10
seconds. If this is not easily possible, make
the assignment prior to the final installation
(chapters 4.1.2 and 4.2.2).
3.1 Mounting
3.1.1 Suspended ceiling with grid boards
LED panels for various grid dimensions are
available. Simply insert the panels into the
grids. Make sure to establish the electrical
connection first.
3.1.2 Suspended ceiling
without grid boards
To install a panel to a suspended ceiling
without grid boards, use the appropriate
mounting frame (please refer to "Specifica-
tions"/ "Accessories").
1) Saw a cutout into the ceiling that matches
the size of the mounting frame.
2) If necessary, ask a second person to hold
the frame in the cutout.
3) Screw the four mounting brackets onto
the frame so that the frame securely fits
into the cutout (fig. 1 on page 2).
4) Establish the electrical connection.
5) Insert the panel into the frame.
3.1.3 Direct installation at the ceiling
To screw a panel to the ceiling, use the ap-
propriate mounting frame (please refer to
"Specifications"/ "Accessories").
1) Screw the frame components A, B and C
together (fig. 2 on page 2).
2) Screw the assembled frame to the ceiling.
3) Establish the electrical connection.
4) Slide the panel into the frame; then screw
component D onto the frame to close
the frame.
3.1.4 Suspended installation
For suspended installation, use rope set
LEDP-4SP. The installation is shown in fig-
ure 3 on page 2.
1) Unscrew the lower part (b) of each rope
support and screw the upper parts (a) to
the ceiling with a corresponding distance
between the parts.
2) Guide a rope through the lower part of
each rope support and through the panel
support hook.
3) Screw the lower part of the rope support
with the rope to the upper part of the
rope support at the ceiling.
4) To adjust the desired length of the four
ropes, press the sleeve (c) of the panel
support hook.
5) Hook the eyebolts of the panel into the
support hook. Then fine-adjust the rope
length to align the panel horizontally.
6) Establish the electrical connection.
3.2 Electrical connection
Connection to the 230 V mains must only
be made by skilled personnel!
1) Connect the connector of the LED panel
to the appropriate connector of the
power supply unit and then secure the
connection with a nut.
2) Connect the mains cable of the power
supply unit to the 230 V mains.
The circuit must be switchable when
no remote control is used. If required,
insert a dimmer for brightness control.
