Electrical System for Towing Hitch
Installing the electrical kit
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. If necessary, remove the following coverings and panels:
•
In the luggage trunk
Covering of luggage trunk bottom

Covering of the rear end plate
-
Covering of the right and left tail light
-
Right-hand and left-hand side covering of the luggage trunk
-
•
Remove the right and left tail light.
•
On the left-hand side of the vehicle
Access strips
-
Lower covering of C,- B- and A-pillars
-
Lower dashboard covering
-
3. Perforate the pre-punched hole of 24 x 43 mm at the rear of the vehicle below the right tail
light using a hammer and a screwdriver (Fig. 1/9) (no drilling required) and deburr the hole.
4. Starting in the luggage trunk, lead the socket end of the cable harness through the vehicle's
cable leadthrough (Fig. 1/9) to the outside and from there to the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/5).
5. Push the rubber grommet on the cable harness.
6. Insert the rubber grommet into the cable leadthrough (Fig. 1/9).

7. Fit the socket gasket to the cable harness.
8. Connect the cable harness to the socket housing in accordance with the socket pin
assignment plan (Fig. 1/5) and push the rubber grommet towards the socket.
9. Screw the socket onto the holding plate (Fig. 1/5) using the supplied screws and nuts.
10. Secure the cable harness on the cross-bar using cable ties.
