Batten under the battens
Lay the bitumen roofing felt (part M). Handle it with care (preferably with gloves) so as not to
tear it. First cover the 2 ends (front and back) and work towards the middle of the roof
making sure to overlap each previously laid strip. Then nail the (P-pieces) to the edges
of the strips, using SC1 screws. Fix the battens under the roof boards (Q-pieces) with SC1
screws by folding the felt under the boards see detail drawing. This prevents the felt from
tearing and provides a good underlay for the roof waterproofing.
