The probe has an M8 connection according to IO-Link port type A. The pin assignment

IO-Link CI/CO
According to the IO-Link specification Port A, a 4-pin M8 A coded (usually on M12)
sensor cable must be used to connect the probe. This may be a maximum of 10 m long.
A shielding of the wires is not specified. The sensor is thus connected to a suitable
IO-Link master.
Application
Pneumatic advanced transducers
The pneumatically pushed transducer have the following specified maximal pressure

P models - 1.5 bar
•
L models - 4.5 bar
Application of pneumatic air to push forward the tip is allowed only when contacting a
workpiece. Otherwise the stroke limitation of the linear ball bearing can permanently
be destroyed!
IO-Link Specification und IODD
The sensor is designed and compliant with the IO-Link specification 1.1. All sensors
have the DeviceID 1000, which means that they all share the same protocol functions.
The ProductID according to IO-Link corresponds to the article number. An IODD file is
available for all probes. This can be obtained from www.peterhirt.ch on the correspon-
ding product page.
IO-Link process data
The probes only have process in data. These are 32 bit wide and correspond to the
position of the measuring pin in nanometers, signed.
