can fit in a teletext decoder.
Care of the set |
To clean the screen and cabinet never
use'sharp, abrasive or pure alcohol
substances. The best way is to use a4
damp window leather. For the non-
reflecting screen we recommend our
special-purpose screen cleanser
which is available from your author-
ised dealer.
Battery replacement
If the range of the remote control
decreases in the course of time then
that usually means that the battery is
empty. To replace the battery, open
the flap of the battery compartment
on the back of the remote control.
Demagnetising the screen
The screen may become
magnetized
by external influences (e.g. electrical
equipment in the immediate vicinity)
or by the earth's magnetic field if the
set is turned or moved during oper-
ation. There is no hazard for yourself
or the set but color specks may
appear on the screen. We recom-
mend disconnecting the set at the
mains and then. switching on again
after a few minutes. In this way the
screen is automatically demagnetized.
\f color specks are still visible after
switching on again, repeat the same
procedure. If there is still no improve-
ment please consult your authorized
dealer. You should also switch off
your set once you have finished view-
ing for the evening.
Faults
Some faults are quite harmless and
canbe rectified by you yourself. For
example if no picture appears after
you have switched on, you can check
whether the mains plug is in properly.
If the picture is suddenly wobbly per-
haps the aerial isn't connected. It can
become dislodged when you are
cleaning. If there is no picture, please
check the other stations.

However, if the picture has-a horizon~
tal white line or if you notice an acrid
smell or smoke emission, pull out the
plug immediately and see your dealer.
