Start-up
Inserting/changing batteries
For use you need 3 batteries of type LR03 (AAA), 1.5 V (included). The battery
compartment is located on the underside of the device.
1. Push the battery compartment cover towards the centre of the scale and remove
the cover.
2. Insert the batteries as indicated at the bottom of the battery compartment.
Pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-).
3. Replace the battery compartment cover. The locking tab must snap audibly into
place.
Suggestions for changing the battery:
‚ A change of batteries becomes necessary when "Lo" appears on the
‚ Only use the type of battery that is specified in the "Technical data".
‚ Always change all batteries at the same time.
‚ Dispose of the old battery in an environmentally responsible way
‚ Calibrate the scale, see "Setting up the scale".
Choosing the unit of measurement
When the scales are delivered, the unit of measurement is set to "kg" as standard.
The measurement result can also be displayed in the Imperial units: "lb" (pound) or "st"
(stone:pound).
1. To switch on the scale, step on the middle of the weighing surface.
2. Repeatedly press the UNIT button on the back of the scale.

Setting up the scale
1. Place the scale on an even, firm and dry surface. Do not place the scale on a carpet.
2. First, briefly step onto the middle of the weighing surface to calibrate the scale.
As soon as the display shows "0.0", calibration is complete.
This calibration must be performed after each battery change.
