Operation
The extensive functions of the Infotainment
system are controlled using function
buttons and menus. The steering wheel
remote control 3 allows you to safely and
conveniently operate the Infotainment
system without having to take your hands
off the steering wheel.

Switching on and off

Briefly press the P button 1
to switch the Infotainment system on
and off.
The last audio source selected will be
✔
played.
When the unit is switched off and the
!
ignition is switched on, time, outside
temperature and date 3 are
displayed.
Switching on and off with the
ignition key (ignition logic)
When ignition logic is activated, the
Infotainment system is automatically
deactivated or activated by removing or
inserting and turning the ignition key.
The ignition logic can be deactivated in the
"Settings" menu, see page 161.

Automatic switch off
If the Infotainment system was switched on
using the P rotary control, it switches off
automatically one hour after the ignition
key is removed.
Setting the volume

To adjust the volume, turn the P
rotary control 1.
When the Infotainment system is
!
switched on, the last selected volume is
set if this is lower than the maximum
start-up volume.
The maximum start-up volume and the
!
volume of navigation messages and
traffic announcements can be
adjusted separately, see page 164.
Mute function

Press and hold the P rotary control 1
to mute the Infotainment system.
Cancelling mute function
☞
Press and hold the P rotary control 1
again,
or:

turn the P rotary control 1 to cancel
the mute function.
Operation
AUX input 3
An audio source, e.g. a portable CD player,
can be connected to the AUX input of your
vehicle. Stereo sound from this source is
played back via the loudspeakers in your
Infotainment system or via Twin Audio 3.
The connector is near the centre console.
Always keep the AUX input clean and
!
dry.
The external audio source should be set to
maximum volume in order to produce the
best audio quality possible. In the case of
devices using Line-out, the output signal is
set to a specific level and cannot be
changed.
To avoid overriding the AUX input, the
!
effective output voltage of the external
audio source must be lower than 1.5 V.
