LISTENING TO THE BROADCAST
LISTENING TO FM OR AM BROADCAST
1. Turn the POWER switch ON.
2. Press the desired BAND selector button.
For AM broadcasts, "AM" indicator will light.
®For FM broadcasts, "FM" indicator will light.
3. Press the TUNING — (down) or + (up) button.
(3-SPEED ACCEL TUNING)
(Manual tuning]
Press TUNING — (down) or + (up) button and release it quickly. The
frequency will change by one step each time the button is pressed.
Press as many times as necessary to tune in the desired station.
Steps change in the following way. FM: 0.05 MHz, AM (MW): 9 kHz,
AM (LW): 1 kHz.
[Auto tuning]
Press TUNING — (down) or + (up) button until the frequency starts to
change, then release it. The tuner will automatically search for a
broadcasting station and stop when one is found.
To search for another station, press again.
@ Auto tuning is not possible on the LW band.
[High speed manual tuning]
Keep TUNING — (down) or + (up) button pressed. The frequency
changes continuously, and stops when the button is released.
4. To receive another station in the same
band,
repeat step 3. To receive a station in the other
band, repeat steps 2 and 3.
When Receiving FM Broadcasts
© lf there is distortion because the radio signal is too strong, press
the RF attenuator (RF ATT) button to light the RF ATT indicator.
elf there is too much noise during reception of an FM stereo
broadcast, press the MPX MODE AUTO/MONO button to light the
MONO indicator. Switching to monaural reception results in clear
reception.
Notes on Auto Tuning
© Because of the high sensitivity of this unit, it may automatically
stop even at very weak overseas stations. The same can happen
with aggregate radio noise emitted in cities.
© During reception of an MW broadcast, if it frequently stops when
presetting stations with auto tuning, auto tuning of only strong
local stations is possible by changing the direction of the loop
antenna or folding it down.
After presetting, move the loop antenna back to the position where
it is pointing in the best direction as before.
© Preset extremely weak stations with manual tuning.
The TUNED Indicator
When the TUNED indicator is not lit, reception is not possible even if
the tuning frequency is correct. This is because the antenna terminal
input is too weak.
Check whether
the antenna
cable is firmly
connected. If it is, consult your nearest dealer and install an outdoor
antenna.

[Syntonisation manuelle]
Appuyer sur la touche TUNING — (descendante) ou + (ascendante)
etla relacher rapidement. La frequence change d'un pas chaque fois
que la touche est enfoncée. Appuyer le nombre de fois nécessaire
pour syntoniser Ja station désirée.
Les paliers changent comme suit. FM: 0,05 MHz, AM (MW): 9 kHz,
AM (LW): 1 kHz.
{Mode de syntonisation automatique]
Appuyer sur la touche TUNING — (descendante) ou + (ascendante)
jusqu'a ce que la fréquence commence a changer puis la relacher. Le
tuner recherche automatiquement une station émettant et s'arréte
lorsqu'il en trouve une.
Pour passer 4 une autre station, appuyer une nouvelle fois.
¢ La recherche automatique des émetteurs nest pas possible dans
la gamme LW (GO).
{Syntonisation manuelle a grande vitesse]
Maintenir la touche TUNING
— (descendante) ou + (ascendante)
enfoncée. La frequence change continuellement et s'arréte lorsque
la touche est relachée.
4. Pour recevoir une autre station dans la méme
gamme, répéter l'opération 3. Pour recevoir une
station
dans
une
autre
gamme,
répéter
les
opérations 2 et 3.
Lors de Ia réception d'émissions FM
® Si une distorsion est présente parce que le signal radio est trop fort,
appuyer
sur la touche
d'atténuateur
RF (RF ATT) pour faire
s'allumer |'indicateur RF ATT.
© S'il y a trop de parasites pendant la réception d'une émission FM
stéréo, appuyer sur la touche MPX MODE AUTO/MONDO pour faire
s'allumer lindicateur MONO. La commutation sur une réception
monaurale entraine une réception plus claire.
Remarques sur la syntonisation automatique
¢ Du fait de la haute sensibilité de cet appareil, il peut s'arréter
automatiquement
méme 4 des stations étrangéres trés faibles.
Cela peut également se produire 4 cause
des parasites radio
agrégatifs émis dans les villes.
e Pendant la réception d'une émission
MW,
si l'appareil s'arréte
freéquemment
lors du préréglage de stations par syntonisation
automatique,
il est possible
de syntoniser
automatiquement
seulement les stations locales fortes en changeantl'orientation de
lantenne a boucle ou en Ia pliant.
Aprés le préréglage, ramener l'antenne 4 boucle sur la position
initiale ot elle pointe dans la meilleure direction.

Lorsque
l'indicateur
TUNED
n'est pas allumé,
!a réception
est
impossible méme sila frequence syntonisée est exacte. Cela signifie
que le signal d'entrée a la borne d'antenne est trop faible. Vérifier si
le cable d'antenne est bien connecté. Si c'est le cas, COnsulter votre
marchand et installer une antenne extérieure.
