B PEAT SUBSTRATES AND POT SOILS
In the case of peat, the pH value can be measured in a mixture of 1 part
by volume peat/pot soil and 2 parts by volume demineralized water (e.g.
top up150 ml demineralized water with peat/pot soil to 225 ml). Shake
vigorously and then measure the pH value immediately in this extract.

2. GREENHOUSE SOILS
In this case it is difficult to give guidelines because the pH value is
dependent on the carbonate of lime content, organic substances and the
way in which deposition took place (old or recent marine clay, river clay
or sandy soils). Therefore, guidelines are given for a few types of soil.
