Before each use, check all parts of the
RACK for wear, cracks, deformation, and
corrosion. Check that
the screws and nuts are securely
fastened.

Attaching the descender to the harness :
place the carabiner locking mechanism
towards you.
Warning, danger
A metal device, for example a descender,
can act as a lever on the gate of a
carabiner. If a carabiner is improperly
loaded as shown, its locking sleeve
can break under a very low load (e.g.
bodyweight), allowing the carabiner gate
to open and the device to detach itself
from the carabiner.
For greater security, make a habit of
backing up your systems and equipment,
especially carabiners.

The rope must be threaded through all 5
bars
on the RACK before using any of the
lockoff positions.
3A. Rapid lockoff : this position requires
you to keep your hand on the free end of
the rope. This position
is useful at the start of the rappel, or for
freeing tangled rope during the descent.
3B. Secure lockoff.
Diagram 4 : Descent
Be careful, the RACK alone does not
ensure adequate braking. Your hand
must always grip the free end of the
rope.
4A. Braking : you may vary the braking
position to adjust the friction for different
loads and rope diameters.
4B. Increase the braking friction by
pulling up on the free end of the rope
with your braking hand, and/or by
pushing the bars closer together with the
other hand.

Prescriptions d'utilisation
Schéma 1. Mise en place
Installation du descendeur sur le harnais :
placez la bague du mousqueton vers soi.
Attention danger
Un appareil métallique, descendeur par
exemple, peut faire levier sur le doigt du
mousqueton. Lors d'une tension brusque
de la corde, la bague de verrouillage
peut casser et le doigt du mousqueton
s'ouvrir.
Le descendeur peut alors s'échapper.
Pour votre sécurité, habituez-vous
à toujours doubler les systèmes, en
particulier les mousquetons.

Pour les clefs de blocage, la corde doit
être passée dans les cinq barres du
RACK.
3A. Blocage rapide : cette position
nécessite de garder la main sur le brin
libre (position intéressante au départ
du rappel ou pendant la descente pour
dégager la corde).
3B. Blocage de sécurité.

Attention, utilisé seul, le RACK n'assure
pas la fonction de blocage. La main doit
toujours tenir le brin libre.
4A. Freinage : positions de freinage en
fonction du poids et du diamètre de la
corde.

Gebrauchsanweisung
Darstellung 1. Einlegen des Seils
Befestigen des Abseilgeräts am Gurt :
Verriegelung des Karabiners zum
Benutzer ausrichten.
Achtung, Gefahr !
Ein metallischer Gegenstand wie z. B.
ein Abseilgerät kann als Hebel auf den
Schnapper des Karabiners wirken. Bei
plötzlicher Anspannung des Seils kann
die Verriegelungshülse brechen und
der Schnapper sich somit öffnen. Das
Abseilgerät kann dabei herausgleiten.
Gewöhnen Sie sich zu Ihrer eigenen
Sicherheit an, solche Systeme
rückzusichern, vor allem die Karabiner.

3A. Zum schnellen Blockieren muss
die Hand am freien Seilende belassen
werden. Diese Position ist zu Beginn der
Abseilfahrt oder während des Abseilens
zum Lösen von Krangeln im Seil nützlich.
3B. Sicherheitssperre.

Achtung : Allein eingesetzt stellt der
RACK die Blockierfunktion nicht sicher.
Die Hand muss daher stets mit festem
Griff das freie Seilende umschließen.
4A. Bremsen : Bremspositionen je nach
Gewicht und Durchmesser des Seils.
4B. Erhöhung der Bremswirkung.
