1.1. Mains supply
Your BASF
D 6160 HiFi Receiver is supplied
from
the factory for use at 220 volts/50 Hz.
Please
ensure
that this corresponds
to your
mains supply.
1.2. Setting up
Your BASF
D 6160 HiFi Receiver requires a
minimum surface area of 46 x 40 cm (approx.).
Allow
a gap
of about
10-12
cm
above
the
Receiver for heat to escape. Care should also be
taken never to expose this equipment to higher
temperatures
and
particularly to direct sun-
light.

3. Rear connections and controls
When
connecting
your
BASF
D 6160
HiFi
Receiver
to other equipment
via the Cinch
sockets, please take care not to confuse the left
and right channels (red = right.)
(1) AUX
Any source
with a high-level output can be
connected
to this stereo input, e. g. cassette
and
tape
recorders,
record
players
with
a
crystal/ceramic system or a second tuner. In
each case, the equipment
connected
can be
switched in by setting the SELECTOR
switch
(29) in the AUX position.
In case you want to duplicate from one set to the
other,
you
must
connect
your
Tape-
or
Cassette-Recorder
to sockets
AUX.
The re-
cording
set
must
be
connected
either
to
sockets "Tape Rec A" or "Tape Rec B".
(2) PHONO
Record players with a magnetic pick-up system
should
be connected
to the PHONO.
If your
record player has an earth connection, please
plug this in to the GND socket (ground, 3).
(3) GND (ground)
This socket serves to reduce the hum which
may occur in conjunction with a record-player.
Connect
the chassis or earth socket of your
record-player to the GND socket.
